Hundreds of Hours of Interpreting for a Global Health Organization Under the UN Umbrella
A look into our long-term relationship with this global client — one project featuring parallel sessions, repeated broadcasts, and a team of twenty-eight native interpreters across six official UN languages.

the client & the challenge
This client has trusted us with their interpreting needs since 2016, across hundreds of hours of conferences, meetings, and webinars. One project captures what that partnership looks like in practice: a two-day conference brought to us just weeks before it ran, with fourteen-hour days, breakout rooms running multiple sessions in parallel, and some morning sessions repeated in the afternoon to reach audiences across different time zones. Every language had to be covered, all day, without a gap.
what we did
Building a Schedule Around a Demanding Program
We read the full conference program before touching a schedule. Interpreters don't work more than eight hours a day, so we assigned two interpreters per session as the baseline, then brought in extra pairs to cover the hours beyond a standard shift. Every breakout room and every repeated session was mapped to a specific pair in advance, and wherever a session repeated, we kept the same team on it, so continuity didn't depend on who happened to be free.
With twenty-eight interpreters working in pairs across six languages, coordination mattered as much as the schedule itself. We set up a dedicated communication channel for each team, with everything coordinated by our internal team, led by the dedicated Project Manager assigned to this client.
"Running a global event brings a hundred small tasks that pull attention away from what actually matters. We take that weight off your team, every time, so you can focus on the event itself, not what's happening behind it."
workflow
Before, During, and Throughout the Event
Interpreters received access links and reference materials well ahead of the conference, and speakers were briefed to keep a pace that made interpreting possible. We ran a full dry run beforehand, testing every connection, audio setup, and microphone, with backups ready in case anything failed on the day. Once the event began, our team stayed present throughout, monitoring chat and breakout rooms and stepping in the moment something needed attention.
the result
This is one project among hundreds of hours of work for a client we've partnered with since 2016. This particular one ran fourteen-hour days for two days straight, in six languages, with parallel and repeated sessions throughout, and the interpreting held steady from the first session to the last, the same standard this client has come to expect from every project we run for them.
